Continuous Professional Development

So that assessors can comply and meet their Continuous Personal Development target as required by their accreditation scheme, N.E.T will be providing CPD training on the following subjects.

  • The New SBEM Conventions
  • Renewable Energy Technology

Assessors will be awarded with an official N.E.T certificate, which will highlight how many hours CPD was spent on a specific course.

SBEM Conventions

The new SBEM conventions will appeal to Assessors qualified in NDEA L3 & L4. The course is divided in to two sections.

DAY 1 – 6 hrs - £90 + VAT = Covering the theory of the new conventions

DAY 2 – 6 hrs - £90 + VAT = Practical implementation of the conventions, with focus the measurements rule.

Assessors are welcome to take part in either 1 or 2 days CPD.

CPD on renewable energy technology will appeal to Assessors qualified in DEA, NDEA L3 & L4, DEC and ACEA L3 & L4.

DAY 1 – 6 hrs - £90 + VAT = This course is intended to further the Assessors general knowledge on renewable energy technology and allow them to make informed recommendations about where it can be used.

On completion of the course attendees will be able to:

  • Recognise the main types of renewable energy sources and the basic principles of their operation.
  • Understand why certain types of renewable energy are important in achieving a reduction in CO2 emissions.
  • Recommend a particular Renewable Technology System in a given situation.
  • Identify the advantages and disadvantages each of Renewable Technology energy source.

Topics covered include:

  • Small and Medium Scale Wind Generators
  • Air, Water and Ground Source Heat Pumps
  • Photovoltaic’s PV (Solar Generated Electricity)
  • Solar Water Heating (Solar Thermal)
  • Biomass and Wood Fuel Heating

For each system we will investigate:

  • The technology behind them
  • How to identify them
  • Site and location requirements
